Day One: Fly to Toronto

Fly to Toronto, on the shore of Lake Ontario, and catch a glimpse of the mighty Niagara Falls as you transfer to your hotel.

Day Two: Travel south into New York State and Gettysburg

Board the coach this morning for the journey across the border into the US, heading across scenic New York State and into 'Keystone State' Pennsylvania. Continue south to stay in Gettysburg, site of the 1863 battle where Unionist forces overcame the Confederates during one of the bloodiest episodes of the American Civil War.

Day Three: Visit the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum

This morning you will visit the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, usually referred to as The Gateway to the Battlefield. The museum's most impressive exhibit is the enormous Gettysburg cyclorama - a life-size painting that gives a 360-degree view of Pickett's famous charge. Later, continue to Tysons, close to Washington DC, for a two-night stay.

Day Four: Explore Washington DC

Visit the 'most powerful city on Earth', Washington DC - US capital and site of some of the nation's most recognisable landmarks. Our optional guided city tour will introduce the sights of this centre of power and politics - Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, The White House.

Day Five: Enjoy a guided tour of Philadelphia

Learn about the colourful history of the birth of the United States as we take a tour of Philadelphia. Here, in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was prepared and, after the tolling of the Liberty Bell, first read to the nation. 

After our guided tour we'll travel to Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, for a two-night stay.

Day Six: See the sights of Manhattan

Enjoy an unforgettable day as you visit Manhattan, the heart of the incomparable Big Apple. Shop, take in the world-famous sights, or join our wonderful optional excursions, which include a guided city tour, during which Central Park, Fifth Avenue and the Empire State Building will be thrillingly revealed.

Day Seven: Travel north to Canada

Today you'll head north once more, through beautiful up-state New York and back into Canada, for a two night stay in Niagara Falls.

Day Eight: Discover the Niagara Falls

Spend today awestruck as you explore the incredible Niagara Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Take a trip on the famous Hornblower or perhaps enjoy lunch and panoramic views with us from high above the Falls at the Sheraton on the Falls Penthouse Fallsview Dining Room.

Day Nine: Explore Toronto and transfer to the airport

Take in more unforgettable views of the Falls on an optional 10-minute helicopter ride this morning, before heading north to the sparkling city of Toronto. Once in the city you'll be free to explore at your own pace, perhaps take in its glittering waterfront, its sky-piercing CN Tower or its contrasting neighbourhoods, including Chinatown and Little Italy.

Later, return to Toronto Airport to check in for your evening flight home.

Day 10: Arrive home

Arrive back in the UK, after an overnight flight.
